We will be at the Flesherton Farmers' Market next Saturday, August 2, with Swiss chard and fresh heads of lettuce.
It was an uphill battle against the twitchgrass, but I eventually gained the upper hand and got all our crops sown. Now I'm wishing for a few sunny days in a row to finish this round of weeding...
Watching the weather forecast for when I can prepare the vegetable garden with the tractor.
20 trays of transplants started and more on the way.
Finishing as much of my paperwork as possible before outdoor work can begin in earnest: website v1.0, entering receipts, finalizing as much of the crop plan as possible.
Unfortunately I am not prepared to get pigs this year; need to do some infrastructure work to prepare for them.
The main goals for this year are:
1) triple sales by expanding into stores, restaurants and some wholesale, and
2) infrastructure work on the barn and drive shed.
Many other little things... as always on a farm. 🙂
Work has started on this website.
The timeline is for basic information by the end of April 2014.
Learning as I go, so wish me luck! 🙂
